Part-Time Worship Technology Manager
About the role
The Worship Technology Manager leads all technical and systems-related aspects of worship services and special events at Heritage Church. This role exists to create a clear, distraction-free environment where people can fully engage in worship and take steps to discover and deepen their relationship with Jesus.
This position supports both Sunday worship environments (10:04 and Sanctuary) while building and leading a healthy, volunteer-driven technology team.
What you'll do
1. Sunday Worship Technology Oversight
- Lead all technical elements for both worship services, including:
Audio (front of house, monitors, in-ear systems)
Video (cameras, switching, and display outputs)
Lighting
ProPresenter and visual content
- Ensure services run smoothly and without technical distractions
- Execute service elements in alignment with weekly worship plans (songs, transitions, videos, scripture moments)
2. Livestream Leadership
- Set up and manage livestreaming for both Sunday services
- Ensure high-quality audio and video for online viewers
- Monitor stream health and resolve issues in real time
- Continually improve the online worship experience
3. Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteer technology team members
- Establish clear roles for:
Audio team
Camera operators
ProPresenter operators
- Build a culture of ownership and teamwork
- Develop trained backups for every key role
4. Systems & Equipment Management
- Oversee and maintain all worship technology systems, including:
Audio consoles and inputs
In-ear monitor systems
Cameras and switching systems
Streaming hardware and software
Computers and playback systems
- Troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Recommend improvements and upgrades aligned with the church’s vision and budget
5. Worship Planning Collaboration
- Work closely with the Worship Leader, Executive Pastor, and Communications team
- Participate in or review weekly worship planning
- Prepare all technical elements ahead of Sunday:
Lyrics and slides
Videos and media
Livestream set up
6. Rehearsals & Service Preparation
- Support midweek rehearsals as needed
- Ensure all technology systems are ready and tested before services
- Help create efficient systems for transitions and adjustments
7. Online Worship Experience
- Oversee consistency and quality of the livestream
- Ensure audio and visuals translate well for online engagement
- Help strengthen digital reach through excellence in execution
Time Commitment
10–15 hours per week, including:
- Sunday mornings (required)
- Midweek preparation and rehearsal time (flexible)
- Occasional special events (Easter, Christmas, conferences)
Qualifications
Required
- Experience with live audio and worship technology environments
- Strong understanding of sound systems and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with ProPresenter or similar software
- Ability to lead and develop volunteers
Preferred
- Experience with digital audio consoles
- Experience with in-ear monitor systems
- Experience with video switching and livestreaming
- Alignment with Heritage Church’s vision and mission

Reports to: Executive Pastor
Works closely with: Pastors, Worship Leader, Choir Director, Service Hosts
